A British registered company formed in 1887,
owning a concession for draining of Lake Copais, and utilising the land,
about 56,250 acres. Drainage was by British and French engineers and
over 200 square kilometers was reclaimed. The land was returned to the
Greek Government in 1952 and the company liquidated in 1954.
